Nestled in the heart of the GTA, is a place that will transport you back in time to the Victorian era - Black Creek Pioneer Village. A historic and quaint village promoting education and experiencing what life was like in the days of the Pioneers some 150 years ago. This small village is made up of restored heritage buildings, accompanied by lush vegetable and flower gardens. This picture perfect June wedding's ceremony took place on the green in front of the charming white timber Wilmot Township Hall, that was originally built in 1858. We share in Black Creeks desire to let the land be our inspiration, so we wanted to create a moment that embodied what this location has inspired in us, just like the Pioneers – celebrating all that nature has to offer us.
We wanted to capture Junes flourishing flower bounty in Ontario, so we based our designs around the ever stunning Coral Charm peony, and wildflowers that grow by the creek side such as Aster, Queen Annes lace, and Ranunculus (part of the buttercup family) as our backdrop. More so, we wanted to capture our lovely couples personality - kind, easy going, genuine, and full of adventure! We reflected that in the use of brightly colourful flowers that would light up the day just like our wonderful bride and groom! Thank you Deanna and Josh for letting us be a part of your special day, I'm so happy to have met you both and wish you two nothing but the best! Too a wedding we will never forget, Roots & Wildflowers first!
Kirsten provided exceptional service for our wedding day. Not only were we happy with her work, but we were proud and honoured to have her florals as part of our special day. Her attention to detail is truly unmatched. She understood exactly what we wanted with almost no explanation needed and delivered stunning pieces that our guests were literally begging to take home. Her creative process from start to finish is easy to follow, incredibly detailed, and crafted to help her clients understand exactly what they want. The business of it aside, Kirsten was a joy to work with. Her passion for florals is apparent in everything she does. To call her a florist is almost doing her a disservice because she is truly an artist in her craft.
